CONNECTIONS: Get Involved

CONNECTIONS is an established lecture series organised by Darwin College students since 2009. The series focuses on forging new ties between ideas and people inside and outside academia. We are now starting to organise next year's lecture series (2011-12) and are seeking motivated students (Darwinians or not) to be part of the organising committee.

Tasks might include:

  • Inviting internationally renowned speakers;
  • Advertising lectures in the wider Cambridge community;
  • Liaising with funding and partner organisations inside and outside Cambridge University;
  • Inviting senior members of government, industry and academia to participate in roundtable discussions at Darwin College; and
  • Coordinating events with Darwin College and interested students for formal dinner and roundtable discussions.

What are the benefits?

  • Getting to network with academics and practitioners from around the UK;
  • Gaining experience in organising a public lecture series;
  • Attending round table discussions with leading academics and senior members from government and industry.
