Upcoming Network Event:

On Friday 10th May 2013 between 6 pm and 7:30 pm there will be an opportunity for current Darwin College students who have aspirations to work in law or finance to have brief one to one meetings with the following alumni who have made careers in those fields:

Michael Blank, Senior Analyst/Fund Manager in a Hedge Fund

Robin Bolivar, corporate support lawyer

Andrea Denby, legal interpreter doing Bar Professional Training Course

Kevin Floyd, Senior Manager at Lloyds Banking Group

Alex Freelove, Intellectual Property Solicitor

Jessie Hohmann, Lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University

Carola Lempke, Patent Attorney

Bryan McGuire QC, Barrister

Walter Sweeney, Solicitor and former MP

The event will follow a speed dating format – you can’t just drop in, so do book early
to avoid disappointment. Once we know who you’d like to meet, we’ll arrange a
schedule of brief one to one sessions at which the alumni can provide advice and
guidance and share useful contacts as appropriate to your circumstances. You can
exchange contact details with them for further discussions by agreement. Most of
the alumni will also be at Formal Dinner that evening, so if you’re keen to continue
the discussions, then perhaps you can do so over dinner.

This event is free of charge to our students, and free refreshments will be available.

If you would like to meet with one or more of the alumni, then please register
in advance by contacting Matt Rooney (dcsa_secretary [at] darwin [dot] cam [dot] ac [dot] uk),
and we’ll prepare a meeting schedule for you. For longer alumni biographies, see below.
